2.5-Days-a-Week Holiday Entitlement Calculator

Based on the default pattern below, a typical entitlement is 14 days. Adjust the inputs for your exact figure.

2.5 days

14 days

(2.5 days ÷ 5 full-time days) × 28 days = 14 days

Audit note

UK rounding rule: employers may round holiday up to the nearest half or full day, never down. Statutory leave is capped at 28 days for anyone working five or more days a week.

How this calculation works

Work a set number of days each week? Your paid holiday is pro-rated from the 5.6 weeks (28 days) a full-time employee gets. Pick your working pattern to see the exact statutory entitlement.

(2.5 days ÷ 5 full-time days) × 28 days = 14 days

Frequently asked questions

Is 2.5 days a week exactly half-time?
Against a five-day full-time week, yes. That's why the entitlement — 14 days — is exactly half of the 28-day statutory allowance. Half the days worked, half the holiday.
What if the full-timer gets 25 days plus bank holidays?
Then set the annual allowance to include those days. On a 25-day allowance a 2.5-day week gives 12.5 days; the calculator recalculates instantly when you change the allowance.
How do I book a half-day of holiday?
When your entitlement is measured in days, most systems let you book in half-day units. Booking a full working day off deducts one day from your balance regardless of how long that shift is.
