How this calculation works

When hours rather than days are fixed, the fairest way to pro-rate the 5.6 weeks is in hours: multiply your contracted weekly hours by 5.6 to get your annual entitlement. Holding leave in hours avoids the distortion that creeps in when shift lengths vary, because a day off is then deducted at the hours you'd actually have worked rather than a notional average.

Holiday pay must reflect your normal earnings, not just basic hours — regular overtime and commission are averaged over the previous 52 worked weeks. There's no minimum-hours threshold to qualify: every worker accrues 5.6 weeks pro-rata from their first day, however few hours they work.
